Voice Recording Adds A New Dimension To Photo Sharing

In case you haven’t noticed, photo sharing websites are really sophisticated. Today, you can do more than just save and share your precious memories! You can add a whole new dimension to each photo that really brings them alive. How? Check out the new audio recording feature. It’s totally amazing! Not only can you see all the wonderful images, now you can actually hear voices of the people you love.

Last week, I was searching for a site to post and share my latest batch of photos. I went on Google and searched “easy photo sharing” (you can use any of the popular search engines), and in seconds I was looking at a fantastic new feature that will add a entire new dimension to preserving your memories . . . voice recording.

Adding your voice adds so much more to your photos

Imagine being able to listen to your child’s voice from when they were just three or four ears old Or being able to hear your Dad’s voice again several years after his passing! I had tears in my eyes as I imagined the amazing possibilities. Instead of just seeing merely a photo, I could hear the voices of my friends and loved ones.

Immediately my mind filled in the blanks with a flood of forgotten memories. My mind raced back in time to some of those really special moments with my little girl — brushing her hair before she went off to preschool, helping pick out her outfits, even teaching her to ride her bicycle.

If easy photo sharing is all about memories, here is the ultimate experience. A particular moment is frozen poignantly, unforgettably. And I can’t tell you how incredible it all feels to tell the story behind the story. It adds a whole new dimension to easy photo sharing.

You can actually create dynamic presentations — complete with words, voice over and background music! And the people who are nearest and dearest to you can add their memories to your stories with photos, words and voice. The possibilities are endless . . . and totally awesome!

It’s easier than you think to add your voice to your photos

Believe me, I’m not an expert when it comes to the computer. But these photo sharing sites are so simple and easy. They walk you through everything step-by-step.

I was so inspired and my creative juices just got flowing. In no time, I created scrapbooks just like a professional. These were beautiful presentation books I know would be passed down from generation to generation.

I’m so lucky I found this when I did! My daughter’s Sweet 16 is right around the corner and I’m creating a customized photo album jam-packed with everyone’s photos from the time she was little. It’s a real living legacy complete with the voices of all her friends and loved ones.

So, if you want to stay connected as you never have before, check out how easy it is to share photos online. There’s a whole new world of possibilities waiting for you.

The truth is that I’m completely angry, furious against Flickr … I believe that its supporting team tries to inflict in an abrupt, uncivilized, bossy way changes that are not yet ready to be implemented … They seem not mature enough to understand the fact that habitual Flickr users must have a say when changes of such magnitude are imposed !!!!

Capture The Moment Forever With Photo Sharing Stories

There are many special moment in life that you want to remember forever. Your wedding day; the birth of a child; a child’s first day of school; and graduation day are a few examples. Using online photo sharing stories is a creative way to capture the moment forever.

Online photo sharing stories are the stories that are written to explain the scene in a photo that is posted. These two elements–the picture and the story–work together to capture the moment. Your online photo sharing stories take your most precious moments in life and allow you to preserve them forever. Sharing these stories online also allows you to make them available to the world or to just a select group of people that you decide to share with.

When you share your special moments with others it increases the joy and happiness created by those moments exponentially. Life is full of peaks and valleys and when a person is in a low spot they can be lifted up by taking a moment to get outside of their own issues and experience a joyful moment through someone else’s eyes. This offers a reminder that there is good in the world and may give hope to someone who has almost given up. It may even remind them of their own special moments in life and give them the strength to look forward onto brighter days. Sharing joy with others is a great service to the world because they can never be too much goodness going around. People are constantly bombarded with news stories of what is wrong in the world and they need reminders of what is right to help create a healthy balance.

Sharing your photos and stories through online photo sharing stories is so much more powerful than sharing them in a scrapbook. You can reach so many more people and give so much more joy. In addition to that you get the security of knowing that your stories and photos are safe from harm. Online they can be backed up in several places to ensure that your memories are never destroyed. House fires, floods and other disasters will not be able to destroy your precious memories when they created in online photo sharing stories. That gives you peace of mind and allows your stories to continue to inspire for many years to come.

Life’s special moments are more special when they are shared with others. Creating online photo sharing stories helps you capture these special moments and preserve them for future generations. Imagine your great-great grandchildren being able to look back and really get a sense of where they came from. Your online photo sharing stories can create a legacy that will extend well into the future and provide joy and understanding for the rest of the ages.

Special moments are captured forever when you create online photo sharing stories and share them with the world. Making the world a happier and more positive place is a great bonus that will bring you even more joy and happiness from sharing your online photo stories.

Share Photos Online – How to Choose a Site For Photo Sharing

Millions of people share photos online since it has become so easy. On most sites, you can just click on the “Share” button, enter one or multiple email addresses, and click send. What could be easier?

It gets a bit confusing, however, deciding which site to use. Sure, you can use any of them and most of the photo sharing sites will work fine. However, why not take advantage of some of the other features that are offered? Different sites offer different options, so you can explore and then decide which features are most important to you.

Here are some things to consider:

Photo Galleries and Display

How will your photos be displayed? Do you have a choice? Are there ads on the site?

There are many different types of galleries, some more sophisticated than others. A common display method is to show thumbnails of an album. You can then click on a thumbnail to get a larger view. Other types of displays might be slideshows, collages or stacking. With stacking, clicking on the top photo brings you to the next one. Fotki offers this option, among other choices.

Free and Premium Accounts

Most photo sharing sites offer both free and premium accounts. Premium accounts have a fee associated with them, but they offer more features. So take a look to see if the free account is adequate for you or if perhaps some of the upgrades are important.

Photo Printing

If one of your main objects is to send your digital photos out to be printed, check around because pricing can vary. In addition, different types of papers are used and delivery or pick up times are different.

Printing quality should be checked out also. Some sites will give you free photos on your first order, and this is a great way to try a site out.

Privacy Options

Do you want only certain people to view your photos, or would you like them available to everyone? Sites may or may not offer privacy options, but most do. Sometimes when photos are public, they will also appear in such places as Google Images. This may or may not be something that you want to occur.

Backup

Although there are many backup methods, you can use photo sharing sites as a backup system. Look for one that keeps your original file size. Some that do, charge for an Archive CD if you never need to get those photos back.

Communities

Forums, contests, and blogs can all be part of a site. If you are interested in “socializing”, look for these features.

Photo Removal

Make sure the site does not remove your photos after a certain period of time. For example, Kodak Gallery has the right to do this if you do not purchase an item (even one 4 x 6 print) within 12 months.

Take a look at a few photo sharing sites to see which one you like. You can try most of them out for free.

Some sites you might consider are SmugMug, Kodak Gallery, Shutterfly, Picasa Web Albums, and Fotki.

Five Ways to use Photo Sharing to Your Advantage

With the advent of digital photography, the general public had a bit of a problem. Should they still print out their pictures on traditional film to share with friends or family, or share them digitally? At first, sharing photos digitally was an undertaking in and of itself. Large file sizes and slow Internet connections led to a lot of frustration. Now, photo sharing sites have made it easier to upload and share photos with people all around the world.

Here are five popular ways of using photo sharing in your personal life and your work life:

1. Sharing family events – If you have children, photo sharing is essential. This is especially true if you have family members that live far away. Sharing the fun day to day things with family and friends as well as the big events is possible through photo sharing. Pick your favorite pictures throughout the month and share them with others through a photo sharing site. You’ll avoid the costs of having to print and mail several copies of the same photos.

2. Showcasing your work – Designers, artists and photographers all need a platform where they can share their work with potential clients. With the use of a photo sharing site you can display your work, upload the link to your website and have an instant portfolio that will land you new projects and bookings.

3. Creating an online travel album – If you’ve recently been on a vacation, why not use a photo sharing site to share your experience and preserve your photos for the future? This way you won’t have to send photos to individual people who ask about your trip. You can save time by sending them all to the same location. You can even write descriptions of your photos so that your visitors know what they are looking at and can learn about your trip.

4. Share your hobbies – Many websites online are dedicated to hobbies like fly fishing, knitting, dollhouse making and other types of activities. If you’re in a forum or a group you’ll no doubt want to share pictures of your conquests and creations. Photo sharing sites makes it very easy to show off your work without uploading large files to the group site or exposing your e-mail address online.

5. Preserve your photos – The only drawback to digital photography is that it is very easy to lose all of your pictures with a virus or other computer problem. Instead of storing all of your photos on your computer and risking losing them, why not use a photo sharing site? You can have the peace of mind knowing that your photos are protected should your computer suffer some kind of crash.

No matter how you choose to use photo sharing, there are definitely advantages to using a sharing site to display your photos. From professional development to sharing family memories, everyone needs to use photo sharing in some capacity. Find a reputable service that offers sharing without any fees or hassles and you’ll be on your way to sharing photos with everyone you know!

A Few Words Of Advice On Speedy Photo Sharing

The speed at which we are communicating is moving faster and faster, largely due to the Internet. Email, instant messaging, video conferences on laptops … you can send a message to someone faster now than ever before.

Photo sharing is an excellent example of an activity that’s been greatly impacted by this speed of light communication. In days gone by, sharing a photo could mean anything from giving a friend a copy of a print to spending $ 150 on a high school yearbook. It meant both face-to-face contact – for example, sitting down with a family member and viewing a photo album – and long-distance contact, such as sending a faraway friend a handful of prints in via regular mail.

Fast & easy doesn’t mean it’s less complicated

Now, because of the recent rise in the number of photo sharing sites on the web sharing a photo has taken on new meaning. A lot of people still attempt to simply email photos. That can be a problem, since file sizes can clog up email inboxes and outboxes. Others send links to photo sharing sites and invite friends to view the photos. That works very well, but many sites require registration, which can be a barrier for some.

Still others open their photos up for the whole world to see. These open, public viewing sites can pose real security risks for the person exposing their personal life to the world. One wrong picture or piece of information could open your life to people you don’t want to know.

The paradox is that even though photo sharing has become faster and easier, it has, in some ways become more complex. The difficulty comes in choosing the way you share your photos. In the old days, your choices were limited. Today, there’s a multitude of choices.

Remember, you are always in control

This paradox can be seen in a variety of other ways we communicate. Remember when a house had one phone? If you do, you’ve probably got a little gray in your hair, because that was quite a while ago.

But compare that thought with today, where most homes have at a minimum two phones, possibly two or three separate phone lines, and each member of the household has his or her own cell phone. Which number do you call to get a hold of whom? And if a telemarketer were to get a hold of all your numbers – look out!

If you’re not careful, the improved technology can end up complicating your life. You have to really keep in mind which phone number you’re handing out, and to whom.

The same thing goes for photo sharing. While it’s great that you can send photos anywhere and to anyone, it’s always best to exercise caution when sending out any kind of personal information.

When you register on open social networking sites, which encourage broad sharing, be sure to change your options to private. (Unless, of course, you really want the world to see your photos.) At sites geared more towards just sharing photos with people you really know, the options are a bit simpler. You control who sees your photos from the very start.

Regardless of the photo sharing site you use, just keep in mind that technology is changing so rapidly that there will be new, better and even more exciting ways to share photos in the coming years.

5 Tips For Making Online Photo Sharing More Meaningful For Family And Friends

It seems like everybody is sharing photos online. But it also seems as if it’s less about sharing memories, and more about sharing a funny photo they found on the Internet, or just putting a bunch of photos from a vacation into a file folder for people to view.

That’s a little like dropping an envelope of prints on someone’s desk and expecting them to understand what’s going on in the pictures. If the person wasn’t with you when the photos were taken, they’ll have no idea what they’re looking at.

When you share your photos, be sure to include a story about them. Some sites allow for easy storytelling, some don’t. Search “easy photo sharing” on the Internet, and you’ll find sites that let you tell stories quickly and easily.

Below are some tips you can use to make your photo sharing a little more meaningful for family and friends. These are ideas you can use to bring the photos you share to life for the people you send them to.

Share memories from your life. This is especially important as parents age and kids grow up. Both are important times filled with milestones you’ll want to remember. Without a doubt, there will be people in your circle of friends who will want to see pictures of your mom, dad, or relatives whom you have a significant relationship with. People love stories about people, especially when they have deep meaning.

Share your passions. If you’ve got a hobby, child, husband or something else you’re particularly proud of, be sure to catch a special moment with a photo and then share it.

For example, if you’re husband’s a woodworker, be sure to capture shots of him working on a project, then get a picture of him with his finished project and show it off! You can document the project start to finish in photos, and then add just a little bit of text to each one.

Share a wonderful moment. With digital photography, it’s so easy to snap a quick picture and send it off in an email. So if your dog does something cute, or if you child does something even cuter, capture the moment and send it off to grandma, a favorite aunt, a friend … whoever you think would love to share the moment with you. This is a really fun thing to do. It engages your friends and family in your every day life, and is a great way to stay connected.

Share a day, a month or even a whole year. Easy photo sharing sites make it easy for you to organize your photos so that you can share magical memories from a day, or the events and milestones from an entire year. That’s the beauty of online photo sharing – you can catch people up with your life in an instant!

Plus, you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to do so. People love to hear about what’s going on in your life, so don’t be shy. If you have a particular milestone or event you want to share, or a series of events you want to catch people up on, go ahead and share!

Share memories across the years. This is perhaps the greatest untapped part of online photo sharing. Just think of all those old photos you have sitting in a box or in photo albums. Why not break them out, scan them into your computer and start sharing them with the people in your life in a new and exciting way.

That’s right, in this modern digital age, you can connect with the past faster and in ways you never dreamed possible. Imagine reaching out to an aunt you haven’t seen in decades with pictures from the summer days you spent with her.

Think of the joy your loved one will feel when they receive photos from days gone by. And you can share this joy with a simple email or you can lovingly create a Photo Album or other printed Keepsake and send it directly to the person you’re reaching out to.

There are a lot of different ways you can share photos, but the key is to add enough information so the recipient of the photo will know the story behind the photo – and everybody love’s a good story!

Holiday Photo Sharing Made Easy

You took the tree down, put the candles away, and stored the holiday lights. Back to the bustle of the post holiday rush – back to work, back to school, back to the real world!

If you’re like most people, you took a lot of pictures during your festivities and travels. You can see those wonderful, magical moments in your mind’s eye. Of course, those memories will fade over time. In fact, they probably have already.

You may still have those pictures stored in your camera – a lot of people do that until they get a “memory full” alert. Or, if you’ve managed to move them over to your computer, their may be sitting there, eating up memory on your hard drive while your memories of the holidays fade. If you’re really on the ball, you may have uploaded your photos to an online photo sharing site already.

Wherever you’re at in the process, you’re just steps away from bringing those memories back to life. Just think how much fun it will be to take a look at the end of the old year as you head into the new year! Doing so will help cement these wonderful memories in your mind even more.

If you’re photos are still on your camera, take a moment while reading this article to get your camera and upload them to your computer. It’s easy – just use the USB cable that came with your camera and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

If you’ve already loaded your photos onto your computer, then take a moment now to sign up for an easy photo sharing site. Just do a search on the Internet for “easy photo sharing” – plenty will appear for you to choose from. If you already belong to one of these services, great! Once you’ve signed onto the easy photo sharing site, just follow the instructions to upload you photos.

Once you’re photos are uploaded – and you may have done this long ago (if so, congratulations!) – take a minute to think about who might like to see you photos. If it’s someone with an email address, just follow the instructions at your photo sharing site and send them a few of your favorite photos. If it’s someone without and email address, then order a few prints for them and have the prints delivered directly to their home.

Either way, you’ll be brightening someone’s day in a very special way. You’ll jog their memory and they’ll recall all the fun times they had with you. Easy photo sharing is a great way to strengthen the bonds of friendship, and keep family ties alive.

Think a little outside the box when you think about holiday sharing. Is there an aunt who you email occasionally? She’d probably love to see how your holidays went. Is there someone you used to be close with years ago, but have lost touch? Then, by all means if it’s appropriate, email or mail them a picture from your holiday celebrations.

Even the holidays are past, you can continue to spread good cheer with easy photo sharing!

A couple of quick notes. First, since this is my 26th Sunset Sunday that means I’ve been doing Sunset Sundays here on flickr for 6 months or half a year. Second, as I was driving home tonight at about 9:00 pm the temperature outside was around 7 F (-14 C). I thought this photo I took a few nights ago helped illustrate how really cold it is. Since this may be one of the whitest sunsets you’ll ever see, I titled it White Space.

Every Sunday is Sunset Sunday on my Photostream. I invite you to join in on the fun and post your own sunset (or sunrise) on Sunday and then share it with us here. Sunset Sundays are the only days I invite you to share your own photo in your comments here. Please keep it to only one and one that you’ve posted this Sunset Sunday.

Now let’s get out there and get some beautiful sunset/sunrise shots and share them every Sunday.
